So often we hear these great recordings of singers and then we go to their concerts and it never sounds the same. A good sound engineer is worth their weight in Gold. I think they may be able to make me sound good…ok that’s a stretch. This a funny but very close to the real thing when it comes to recording some very famous people who desire to sing but need the help of a creative sound engineer. Enjoy!
Nick drives me crazy. This guy is by far the most inspirational person I have ever known. He is only about three feet tall mainly because he has no arms or legs but his heart is bigger than anyone I know.
Sometimes we feel like we are going through a valley with no way out. After hearing Nick’s story I think my valleys are very superficial.
Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli team up in Central Park and I can only wish that I was there. This is perhaps the next best thing. Perhaps you would like to share with me one of your favourite performances and I will look it up and post it on my site. (If you tube has it)
I think the best thing for you to do is put on the headsets sit back and simply soak this in…
So what do you think.
When people say someone has the gift of music I sometimes wonder what they mean by that. Well that was answered when I first heard Candice Glover sing. She comes from a different world. She had tried out for American Idol three times and on the third try she won it all. Candice comes from a family that is as grass roots as you can get. Her family is not rich in finances but then how do you describe rich. She is abundantly wealthy is the things that count. She has a loving family and she has a deep rooted relationship with God.
When you believe is an amazing song. I have a sign above my roll top desk that simply says believe and that is an amazing statement, believe. Great things happen when you believe. The main thing about believing is what you believe in. For me I believe in God and I believe we are not here on earth by accident. We are not part of the big bang but the big plan. God has a purpose for our lives and it is in finding that purpose that life takes on meaning. I believe God loves us, gays, straight, black, yellow, white or mixed He is no respecter of persons.
So sit back put on your headphones if you have them and listen to this lady sing. This is actually more than just singing this is a gift from God to all of us who have the opportunity and time to listen.
With all the news recently I thought we could use some inspiration. What better way to do that then with a Gospel choir. This is a group that appeared on Britain’s Got Talent. It is amazing what music can do. Music crosses so many barriers. Perhaps if we could just get nations to start singing together we could start to see some unity.
There is nothing that moves me like a good Gospel Choir. It is the way Church was meant to be, a lot of passion and excitement. I think you need to throw in some creative dance moves and a good tambourine and don’t leave out the Hammond B-3. (I think it’s a Hammond B-3 but don’t quote me)
Well the point is enjoy. I saw this video on Godvine.com and if you want to see some cool stuff take a peek at their site. Have a great day….and keep on singing.
So What DO YOu Think?
They had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ but for some reason moved away from relationship and got caught up in program and service and missed the daily presence of knowing Jesus on a personal level. The song welcomes people back to that first love. The love of knowing God in a personal and satisfying way.
I know what it is like to go through a valley and not be connected like you once were. When I first came to know Jesus it was amazing, miracles, signs and wonders were an everyday occurrence. We lived in an atmosphere of faith and God was real and we did not mind telling whoever would listen about Him. Life can sometimes throw you a curve ball and some tough times come our way. The cool thing is even if we drift away God does not drift away from us. He says, “I will never leave you or forget you.” He is more than ready to welcome us back into a dynamic loving relationship with him.
This is a very old video, one of the people in the video is Kathryn Kuhlman who was an evangelist and practiced faith healing. She saw hundreds of thousands of people healed in her meetings and she was quoted as saying, “there is so much more, there is just so much more.” The young men in the video are the members of the group Love Song. This youth movement transcended denominations and it saw hundreds of thousands of young people commit their lives to Jesus Christ. The movement happened when Time Magazine had declared the God was dead, a year after the Jesus People Movement, time magazine had a headline that said, “God is dead is dead.”
So I personally am coming back, and if you want to join me it is very easy, because all Jesus is saying to us is, WELCOME HOME.
So what do you think?
I have decided to do what I do best and that is to share the good news of Jesus Christ in an many creative ways as I can. In a world filled with chaos it is good to know that there is a place we can go that is an island of peace, hope, comfort and joy. I find that place is when I worship. There is something about concentrating on God and His goodness and his Majesty that causes a person to turn away from the troubles of the day and enter into a place where answers are found and hope is restored. I don’t think God needs our worship, I believe He is secure in who he is, I think we need to worship because of the gratitude we have to God.
The two great tools available to the Christian are prayer and worship. Prayer is not a one way conversation, it is about hearing what God has to say and being in conversation with Him. If this sounds strange it should not. God created us to have a relationship with Him. How many relationships do you know of where the two people never talk to each other or one person does all the talking and the other never says a word. That would be weird. God speaks in many ways, He speaks through his word and He speaks to us through our Spirit. This is difficult for some to understand because most conversation comes through the soul. We are not created to be sourish we are created to be spiritual. When we put ourselves into a place where our Spirit is active and hearing from God it changes the way we do things. You can only walk two ways on this earth, you can walk according to your soul or you can be Spirit lead.
I am tired of setting my mind on the things of this earth. I want to be living in another realm, a place where I can hear from God and walk in the power of His life. Christianity is not a belief system it is a life system. Jesus did not say I come that you might have religion, He said, I have come that you might have life…and life more abundant.
So I will stop preaching and I encourage you to listen to and if possible enter into worship. Enjoy.
Somehow it would be great to capture the joy that I see on the faces of the children in this video. Music has a wonderful way of producing feelings and emotions. May this season bring you much joy.
The announcement of Jesus’s birth came from angels who shouted, Joy to the world the Lord has come! The idea that a saviour was born and that his name should be called Emmanuel (God is with us) He came not to Lord over us but to walk with us. To those that followed him he brought great joy into their lives. Today for those that follow him he promised, Joy, righteousness and peace. These things may not be evident in our world but they can be evident in our lives and perhaps that is where it starts. Joy To The World!
I have been experiencing a lot of stress recently and I just needed a U2 fix. The truth in this song is that we have a place, beyond this place and that is what makes this place liveable. I like the fact that death is not an end but it is a new beginning. I have no problem with the concept of heaven. I have seen the miracle of birth and I cannot get my head fully around it but I know its a miracle. So do I believe in life after death, simple answer, you bet. Hopefully a whole lot of us will be walking one day, on the streets with no name.
I wanna run, I want to hide
I wanna tear down the walls
That hold me inside
I wanna reach out
And touch the flame
Where the streets have no name
I want to feel, sunlight on my face
I see the dust cloud disappear
Without a trace
I want to take shelter
From the poison rain
Where the streets have no name
Where the streets have no name
Where the streets have no name
We’re still building, then burning down love
Burning down love, and when I go there
I go there with you, it’s all I can do
Millions have viewed this video on you tube but I saw it for the first time this morning. This is what movies are made of. Choi was abandoned and put into an orphanage. At five he ran away and has been living on the streets. He sells sum and energy drinks and is a self taught singer. Someone once said, “no matter what your lot in life you can build something beautiful on it.” This young man has defied all the odds and is on his way to stardom.
This is “so what do you think?” is all about. When we finds things that inspire or make us think we post them on the site. So I could think of nothing better to put up on an overcast Friday than this video. I hope you enjoy and if you find something that is amazing that you would like to share with others email me the link at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Lesley Stahl profiles British musical savant Derek Paravicini, whose computer-like memory for music is matched by his creative abilities to play it in any style. I was sent this video and I have now watched it about twenty times. It is amazing and almost unbelievable. It goes to show us the more we think we know the more we do not understand. I am putting this up on our site and we ask the question, “So What Do You Think?”
So I have posted two over the top videos. One, is a young man who looks anything like a talented singer and then the story of Derek Paravicini, who was born blind and can play anything and he can play any style. So again the simple question, So What Do You Think?
